Kumar Sublevao-Beat

Kumar, Mc and musical producer, began his career in the hip hop movement in Havana, Cuba, at the end of the 90s. With the characteristics of a rapper, his music is cooked on a machine and flavored with ethnic, acoustic, analogical and digital instruments under the influences of Afrojazz, reggae, funk, electronics and, especially, Cuban traditional and folkloric music. As possessed by drums, he improvises, tells folkloric stories.

Currently he presents Afrikun, a project in collaboration with Machete Horns a multi-instrumentalist duo formed by “El Congo Allen y Regis Molina” with it, they pay a tribute to their African ancestors and study in depth the diversity of their cultural heritage; being explicit the experimental and spiritual character of this album that is just a round voyage across the music of this creative continent. Omar Sosa, Dayme Arocena, M.anifest, Mû Mbana, Adama Kone ... among other important artists, have collaborated in this project.
