Clementine Ewokolo Burnley ist Schriftstellerin, Dichterin, Aktivistin und Mutter. Ihre mehrfach ausgezeichneten Kurzgeschichten, Essays und Gedichte setzen sich unter anderem mit Machtstrukturen auf verschiedenen Ebenen auseinander. 2017 wurde sie für den Bristol Short Story Prize nominiert. Wir laden herzlich ein zu einem poetischen Abend mit der gebürtigen Kamerunerin, bei dem sie einige Texte vortragen und auch einige visuelle Einblicke in ihre eigene Biographie geben wird. Die Lesung findet begleitend zur Ausstellung „Flucht nach vorn – Migrant_innen als Vorbilder“ in der Pankower Janusz-Korczak-Bibliothek statt. Diese Ausstellung zeigt Menschen mit Wurzeln in aller Welt, die in Deutschland zuhause sind und unsere Gesellschaft auf verschiedene Weise bereichern. Die Lesung findet in englischer Sprache statt. Clementine Ewokolo Burnley is a writer, mother and community worker. She has been a finalist in the Bristol Short Story Prize Competition 2017, the Miles Morland Scholarship Award and received an Honourable Mention in the Berlin Writing Prize Competition, Her poems and short fiction have appeared in Versal Journal, The Feminist Wire, Parabola Magazine, and elsewhere. We cordially invite you to a poetic evening with the native Cameroonian, during which she will present some texts and also give some visual insights into her own biography. The reading will take place at the Janusz Korczak Library in Pankow, accompanying the exhibition "Flucht nach vorn - Migrant_innen als Vorbilder" (Escape Forward - Migrants as Models), which will be on display at the Library from 25 July to 30 August 2018. This exhibition shows people with roots all over the world who are at home in Germany and enrich our society in various ways.
