Linda Mannheim will be appearing at Shakespeare & Sons Bookstore to
discuss her new book of fiction, ABOVE SUGAR HILL.

ABOVE SUGAR HILL is a collection of stories set between 145th and 181st
Street in Manhattan – roads no one from outside the neighbourhood is
expected to visit. A work of site-specific fiction, it maps the dividing
line between Harlem and Washington Heights and the stories of a one time
New York City landmark that became known for its high homicide rate and
heroin trade.

Eimear McBride has said: "Mannheim's restive tales of her desiccated
stretch of New York provoke and abide like a slap."

Linda Mannheim is the author of novel Risk (Penguin) and Noir (Kindle
Single). Her short stories have appeared in Nimrod International
Journal, The Gettysburg Review, New York Stories and New Contrast.

The evening will feature photos by visual artist Copie Rodriguez and a
soundtrack for Upper Manhattan at the end of the 20th Century.

THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE SHAKESPEARE & SONS IN PRENZLAUERBERG,
RAUMERSTRASSE 36.
