Whether microplastics in bodies of water and organisms, the introduction of neobiota into new environment or the accumulation of radionuclides from nuclear weapons tests, every anthropogenic marker has a political, technological and ecological history behind it.

On Friday, 20 May 2022, from 3–9 pm at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, eight different Markers workshops will take place. Here, scientists from the Anthropocene Working Group (AWG), humanities scholars, and artists critically delve into how “Anthropocene forensics” is conducted. From a transdisciplinary perspective, the audience-based mini-workshops explore the political, technological and ecological histories inscribed in the chain of evidence of the Anthropocene.

The eight mini-workshops, each lasting 1.5–2 hours, will take place in three parallel stages. We invite you to design your own pathway and select the sessions that interest you the most.
