Skateistan is an award-winning NGO which was started in Afghanistan ten years ago. From a few girls on skateboards in a disused fountain in Kabul, Skateistan has grown to an international organization with four Skate Schools in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. By combining skateboarding and creative education, Skateistan empowers children, encourages them to have fun and provides a safe space where they can play, learn and make new friends.

Over 2,000 students regularly enjoy Skateistan's innovate programs- they include over 50% girls, children living with disabilities and children from minority groups. Everyday, they are proving that skateboarding really is for everybody.
