Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute is delighted to invite you to attend a special edition of our Meet in Mitte event series. On 10th September we will be joined by Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former prime minister of France and founder of Leaders for Peace as he delivers a lecture on the topic, Multilateralism for peace.

Multilateralism, brought in after 1945, has come under strain. Faced with increasingly complex challenges, it appears to have lost its effectiveness. Given the growing number of players on the international stage, its legitimacy is being contested. With the rise in nationalism in many countries that blame their economic and social problems directly on multilateral action, the reactions often appear imbalanced. Are we to conclude that multilateralism is dead?

Following the speech there will be an opportunity for Q&A.

Jean-Pierre Raffarin will speak in French, simultaneous translation to English and German will be provided.

Following the event there will a reception with refreshments and opportunities for networking.
