Journalist in Residence Anja Krieger meets with Syrians, guests and Media Residents at “Baynatna. Die arabische Bibliothek”, a few steps down the entrance of the main library. This will be an informal and open discussion in English centred on the experience and perspective of the participants, moderated by Anja. How is Syria represented in the media? What kind of image do German and European outlets transmit? Do they accurately represent the reality of what’s happening? Are there stereotypes, stories or other aspects that media should try to avoid or challenge? Which media outlets deliver good and which ones deliver flawed information? And how could Syrians themselves here in Germany help tell these stories about the reality of their people?
