The program also highlights lesser-known yet equally influential talents\, including Ellis Marsalis\, Alvin Batiste\, and James Black\, as well as groups such as Galactic and The Meters (also known as The Funky Meters). Supported by his Berlin-based quintet\, Fernández honors the rich musical heritage of New Orleans with a vibrant and respectful interpretation of its roots.
