In tiefem Gedenken an den vor 13.000 Jahren ausgestorbenen Pflanzenfresser improvisiert sich das urzeitliche Trio durch hohes Gras und weite Steppen.Seit ihrer Open-Air-Bandgründung auf dem Moers Festival 2023 überleben Schlagzeuger Simon Camatta\, E-Gitarristin Raissa Mehner und Vibrafonistin Salome Amend nur knapp\, mit Hilfe von Elektronik und pliozänem Klimbim. Aus dem Dickicht auftauchende Themenköpfe und wildwüchsige Eigenkompositionen zwingen sie\, sichere Trampelpfade zu verlassen.Toxodons kurze\, aber muskulöse Beine endeten nicht ohne Grund dreizehig\, sodass es uns noch heute gern als an-den-borstigen-Haaren-herbeigezogene Analogie zur Seite steht:Drei Zehen\, drei Silben\, drei MusikerInnen aus drei Städten verbinden Ruhrgebiet\, Rheinland und Bergisches Land und schaffen einen tollkühnen Wust aus halb-aquatischen Klangsphären und schroffen Independent Felsen.Toxodon lives! In deep memory of the herbivore\, which died out 13\,000 years ago\, the prehistoric trio improvises their way through tall grass and vast steppes.Since their band was founded on the Moers Festival 2023\, drummer Simon Camatta\, electric guitarist Raissa Mehner and vibraphonist Salome Amend only survive with the help of electronics and Pliocene klimbim. Thematic heads emerging from the thicket and wild original compositions force them to leave safe beaten paths.
