The one-day event is curated by Khidja\, a music production and DJ duo from Romania who perform worldwide and write music for moving images\, new media installations and performances.CURRENTS will create a hypersensitive environment where every note is charged to the max. Space and time seem to deform and dissolve\, and the sound will open doors to other worlds. The performances will morph into intense listening sessions that engage critically and politically\; they will reflect a rare archival body of works that have been largely marginalized in the history of avant-garde music and sound art.CURRENTS is a non-profit event that supports an international community of artists and cultural workers whose existence is threatened by climate change\, pandemics\, wars\, displacement and economic inequality. As one of the first contemporary arts institutions to host a 100% carbon neutral electronic music and performance festival\, the institution aims to advance new forms of knowledge production and cultural events.CURRENTS is an amalgam of live contemporary art and electronic music\, presenting a mix of internationally acclaimed artists intertwined with emerging acts. The one-day event is curated by Khidja\, a music production and DJ duo from Romania that performs worldwide\, and writes musical scores for the moving-image\, new media installations and performance shows.
