DESCRIPTION:This Friday we invite you to come celebrate the end of the year at Deriva -Neukölln- where Shingo Ali Masuda and Zhenya Topov Handpan Music will be combining their love for the percussive and melodic in a mostly improvised set on the Handpan (Hang-Drum) and Qanun...................................................................................................................................................................................................................Zhenya Topov (Zhenya Topov Handpan Music) is a handpan and frame-drum percussionist\, composer for dance and theatre and physical theatre practitioner and pedagogue. A graduate of American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NY)\; Sonic Arts Program of Victoria University (Wellington\, NZ) and Helikos- International School for Theatre Creation (Florence\, Italy).Zhenya aims to combine his passions of music and theatre in his compositions\, creating dramatic structures and improvising within them. He evokes spiralling cycles with subtle variations on the theme\, creating evocative spaces for the listener to journey through.Zhenya has been blessed to have his technique enriched in the workshops with David Kukherman and Kabecao Rodrigez both of whose music and musicianship have been an influence. Other artists that have inspired\, are syncopation madman Nils Frahm\, Kung Fu continuous music pianist Lyubomir Melnik\, the original minimalist Steve Reich and Detroit Techno pioneer Derrick May.Zhenya regularly collaborates with storytellers\, poets\, contemporary dancers\, singers and electronic music producers.For expressions of interest\, collaboration proposals\, bookings and Handpan workshops &amp\; lesson inquiries please email floatingbearaudio@gmail.comHandpan compositions: www.zhenyatopov.bandcamp.comElectronic works for dance and theatre www.soundcloud.com/zhenya-topov.........................................................................................................Shingo MasudaShingo Masuda is a Japanese kanun player\, was born in Osaka of West Japan in 1986.He started the piano when he was a child.He has studied the piano and experienced the percussion in his life.Since 2009\, Shingo has been recommended to play the kanun and Arabic music by Arabic music players in Japan and started them in Egypt.After that he has been to Egypt\, Tunisia\, Turkey and Greece\, and he has been studying the kanun and musical methods of modal music.During his career\, Shingo has experienced to perform various situations such as some festivals\, the program of Japan Broadcasting Corporation\, some temples and shrines and more.And he has participated some bands of various music genre and collaborated with many musicians\, dancers and artists.In 2016\, he has performed for World Music Oreum Concert in Jeju Island\, South Korea such as a member of 奈良楽譜 (Nara Score).Since 2012\, he has performed in Taiwan every year.https://www.facebook.com/shingoqanun/https://youtu.be/Whw7iC3cjdk
