DESCRIPTION:L A B (Laboratory Actors Berlin) is a studio dedicated to theatre research\, training and creation. It is based in Berlin\, and it starts its 1st Circle in spring 2013 under the artistic direction of Christina Kyriazidi.*** The 1st Monday of the month is free class and everyone interested is welcome to participate or observe the training: 6 May / 3 June / 1 July1st CircleDESCRIPTIONThe 1st Circle focuses on physical and vocal training and on character researchand it introduces the basic tools of actor’s dramaturgy as well as principles of solo and group creation.1st CircDESCIPTIONThe 1st Circle focuses on physical and vocal training and on character researchand it introduces the basic tools of actor’s dramaturgy as well as principles of solo and group creation.PHYSICAL TRAINING – RESEARCH ON THEATRE CHARACTERThe class is divided in two parts. On the first part\, we work the physical awareness and body-mind connection\, elaborating principles of actor’s presence through breathing\, rhythm\, balance\, body-space and group-relation exercises. The second part is concentrated on the physical research of a theatre character: connection with the time\, space\, will and conflict of the character and how is manifested through the body.VOCAL RESEARCH AND TRAININGThe class elaborates different ways of using the voice both as an instrument for actor’s work and as an inspiration for theatre research and creation. On the one hand\, we focus on the dramaturgy of the voice\, through the precision of vocal actions. On the other hand\, we work on rhythm and vocal dynamics\, using traditional Balkan\, South European and South American songs\, as well as group songs of African origin.GROUP CREATION – THEATRE MONTAGEThe class deals with the passage from physical training to scenic presence\, from actor’s dramaturgy to partner work.
