DESCRIPTION:Urban Spree Gallery is proud to announce the first solo exhibition in Berlin by Israeli contemporary artist klone. Having started graffiti in Tel Aviv in 1999\, klone is considered as the pioneer of the local graffiti scene and today-€&#8482\;s most prominent street artist in Tel Aviv\, where his stunning murals adorn the derelict and ghost areas of the city. Over the years\, in parallel to his outside work\, klone has developed a more intimate practice with watercolors\, drawings and collages\, which form the inside part of his artist-€&#8482\;s personal and complex universe. Rooted with distorted\, lost memories from his childhood in the USSR\, shaped by his street work and acute perception of the environment\, his artwork reflects his obsession with duplicity\, multiplication and transmutation\, adorned with eerie mythological bestiary and ubiquitous spirits. His artwork is an endless questioning about the surface and deepness of living creatures\, a sense of loss and the urge for creation. Titled -€œNEW LAND. we need new land-€œ\, klone-€&#8482\;s new body of works for the exhibition consists of watercolors on paper\, collage works and ink drawings. The exhibition will also host what is klone-€&#8482\;s biggest paper installation to date. In connexion with the exhibition\, klone will be releasing a limited edition screen print on paper in collaboration with Mother Drucker-€&#8482\;s print studio\, made in the Urban Spree Ateliers. klone will also sign his new artist-€&#8482\;s book\, self- and hand-published.
